Professional Summary

Founder, product manager, and ex-engineer. AI coding agents are reshaping how products get built — the PM can now take a product from concept to working prototype and hand off to engineers to take it production-ready. Engineering doesn't go away; the handoff moves. Doing the PM side well takes engineering depth, product judgment, and delivery muscle in one person. Currently founder of Sortie HQ (SortieHQ.ai), an AI-native strategy-to-execution platform with a live prototype — authored end-to-end and built by directing AI coding agents under my own architectural review.

Professional Experience

Solo Founder & Builder — Sortie HQ

2026 – Present

Sortie HQ (SortieHQ.ai) · AI-Native Strategy-to-Execution Platform

  • Founded Sortie HQ — a pre-revenue AI-native platform targeting $150B+ in annual engineering coordination overhead. Conducted original market research, sized the opportunity from first principles ($120K/engineer/year across a 5M-engineer addressable market), and built a working prototype that’s live on the web.
  • Authored the full founder stack: competitive analysis, business plan, financial model with dilution scenarios, PRD, brand positioning, investor pitch deck, one-pager, go-to-market pricing strategy, and CFO-ready ROI framework. Used Sortie’s own platform to generate a multi-channel go-to-market plan targeting design partners, leads, customers, and investors.
  • Identified the core problem from direct experience: the coordination scaffolding that wraps around engineering teams (PMs, scrum masters, RTEs, architects) costs organizations $75K–$170K per engineer annually. Defined which roles are impacted, how the platform changes their workflows, and designed the product around enterprise trust — bring-your-own-LLM, auditable decisions, confidence scoring, and configurable approval thresholds.
  • Built the working prototype by directing AI coding agents under direct review — defining product-as-architecture requirements, managing prompt engineering and LLM failure modes, and owning all product and quality decisions.

Scrum Master

Jul 2025 – Mar 2026

Colabora contracted to Bank of America

  • Facilitated GenAI adoption (MS Copilot) across 3 teams — built real examples that showed team members how AI could solve their daily pain points. Adoption stuck because the use cases were practical, not theoretical.
  • Mentored 3 Product Owners (2 engineers wearing the PO hat, 1 dedicated) on backlog ownership, prioritization, and stakeholder communication. Guided one through the team’s first-ever PI Planning.
  • Built delivery dashboards that gave leadership real-time visibility into product health across all 3 teams — used the data to make better sprint decisions and surface problems early.

Interim Product Manager / Senior Scrum Master

Sep 2024 – Jul 2025

Trustech, Inc. contracted to Sorenson Communications

  • Stepped into the Product Manager role for 2.5 months on an AI voice-to-text correction product — owned stakeholder relationships, decided what to build next, managed intake, and set delivery expectations.
  • Coached a first-time Product Manager from zero — helped them learn how to think about product strategy, not just manage a backlog. Got engineers bought in by translating product vision into work they could understand and own.
  • Led SAFe adoption for 3 cross-dependent teams (mobile, backend, AI call center). Facilitated the organization’s first-ever PI Planning, then kept it running through multiple increments.

Agile Scrum Master

Mar 2023 – Sep 2024

Dexian Consulting contracted to Bank of America

  • Brought structure to 3 teams building financial API products (including Plaid integration) that had no consistent planning process. Created the cadence, got the teams aligned on commitments, and coordinated cross-team dependencies that were causing delivery surprises.

VP of Product Development / Scrum Master

Mar 2021 – Jan 2023

Core Strengths Publishing

  • Sole Product Manager for 4 products shipped from concept to marketplace launch (iPhone, Android, Zoom, Slack). Gathered requirements directly from the CEO and VP-level stakeholders, made prioritization calls, and managed the backlog from first idea through app store approval.
  • Wore both hats — product owner and delivery lead — across all 4 launches. When something wasn’t ready, I was the one making the call on whether to ship or hold.

Scrum Master

2020 – 2021

Signature Consultants contracted to Bank of America

  • Introduced Agile to 2 teams that had never worked that way — overcame resistance by showing results early rather than lecturing about process.

PMO Practice Lead

2019 – 2020

Exceedra Software

  • Inherited a PMO with 8 over-budget, over-schedule client engagements and turned it around — standardized practices, moved to sprint-based delivery, managed 4 PMs through the transition. Earned recognition from a client SVP who had been ready to walk.

Director IT PMO

2017 – 2018

American Tire Distributors

  • Managed 15 PMs and a $30–50M IT portfolio, reporting to the CIO. Presented monthly to the full C-suite and met weekly with the Chief Strategy Officer — translating IT investments into executive decision frameworks.

IT Product Manager / Release Train Engineer

2015 – 2017

American Tire Distributors

  • Created a new role as the single point of contact between 5 business units and 6 engineering teams. Decided what got built next out of 50–80 active requests, based on business impact. Built the company’s first structured release process from scratch.

Senior Business Analyst

2011 – 2015

American Tire Distributors

  • Led requirements and functional analysis for enterprise B2B e-commerce systems serving Walmart and other major clients. Mentored junior analysts on requirements gathering and stakeholder collaboration.

Product Manager

2007 – 2010

Insurance.com

  • Owned the full online sales funnel for a $70M, 48-state auto insurance platform — at the time, the largest comparative online auto insurance agency, selling 300–500 policies per day at peak.
  • Ran A/B tests on landing pages and funnel steps, partnered with BI to build conversion reporting, tracked drop-off through every funnel stage, and used the data to prioritize fixes. Had final say on product design and implementation priorities.

Web Developer

2004 – 2007

Insurance.com

  • Part of a complete rebuild of the Insurance.com website. C#, JavaScript, XML/XSL, API response mapping. Built attribution marketing and email campaign integrations.

Web Developer

2000 – 2004

Progressive Insurance

  • Web development in Claims IT — classic ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, SQL on DB2.
